Bleed and Safe Area for Print

Bleed extends backgrounds past the final cut line; the safe area keeps important content away from cutting tolerance.

Bleed

Extend photographs, colours and other edge-to-edge backgrounds beyond the finished edge by the bleed stated on the product page. Do not enlarge the finished page and call the extra space bleed unless the export retains the correct trim box.

Safe area

Keep logos, text, borders, QR codes and other critical content inside the stated safe area. Cutting is a physical process and slight variation must be allowed for.

Borders near the edge

Thin borders can make normal cutting variation look uneven. Use a generous inset border or remove the border entirely.
